How to go Harder Kulm

How to go Harder Kulm?

First, you need to go to the Harderbahn from Interlaken if you want to go up to Harder Kulm.

It is very important to note that there is no parking lot around Harderbahn, so you have to come here on foot.

If you come here by car, I suggest parking your car somewhere near the Interlaken Ost Station.

Then you have to walk for five minutes, and it is very easy to get there.

Hop on the Harderbahn funicular and enjoy a steep yet smooth 8-minute ride to the summit.

The maximum slope is 64 degrees, and what is very unique about this funicular is that the track isn’t straight but instead laid over a quadrant.

The Harderbahn funicular operates from April to November. You can buy tickets online or at the station. It costs CHF 44 for a round trip.

Things to see at Harder Kulm

Things To See At Harder Kulm

After arriving, the first thing you can see is the Harder Kulm Panorama Restaurant. It offers stunning views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the famous trio peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.

It was my bad luck that these three peaks were covered in clouds, but on a clear day, the sight is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Go to the overhanging viewing platform. The viewing platform gives you a thrilling sense of floating above the landscape.

From there, you can see Lake Thun, then the town of Interlaken, and Lake Brienz.

So, you really can imagine why the town is called Interlaken because it is literally between the two lakes.

Don’t forget to take a look at the Niesen mountain. It’s also called the “Swiss Pyramid”.

You can also enjoy the views while eating fondue or rösti in the Harder Kulm Panorama Restaurant.
